Choi Kwang Do is a unique martial art based on scientific principles and developed to promote optimum health, fitness and self-defense, not winners in sports competitions. Choi Kwang Do was developed by Grandmaster Kwang Jo Choi between 1978 and 1987 and has proven to be the most effective martial arts system in the world. Choi Kwang Do?s natural, easy-to-learn, sequential movements maximize your body?s force-producing capabilities, but more importantly, they increase opportunities to enhance your health. It?s a unique program based on modern scientific principles from human anatomy, physiology (the branch of biological sciences dealing with the functioning of organisms), psychology (the science of mental life), kinesiology (the branch of physiology that studies mechanics and anatomy in relation to human movement), neurophysiology (the branch of neuroscience that studies the physiology of the nervous system) and biomechanics (human movement science).

Eastleigh CKD is part of Hampshire Choi Kwang Do, a family based business run by the fantastic Bicknell family. (All four Black Belts!) They provide a friendly, family based environment to get fitter & more flexible, have some fun but also to learn and support some vital life skills; these being self defense, confidence, awareness and in our children, reaffirm respect and discipline. To aid flexibility, there is a yoga based stretch at the beginning of every class. This is a martial art for everyone and all levels of fitness and age. The Bicknells also encourage a brilliant social scene where pantos, treasure hunts, BBQs, Xmas parties etc are all run during the year. Come and visit us to try the first lesson for free!! We train in various locations around the area; For an up to date venue, check out www.hampshireckd.com for the venues and for more information. Our whole family takes part and we thoroughly enjoy it and recommend it whole-heartedly. Pil Suhng!! Stephen, Andrea, Michael & Kieran Wells

Choi Kwang Do is fantastic for all the family. Designed to help your body achieve its maximum in Self Defense techniques. Using Biomechanical Principles, It is non competitive, non agressive style of Martial Arts but dangerous to your attacker and very, very affective. Choi Kwang Do is taught using methods that actually do work in a street situation and therefore is not used in competition. I have just completed 3 years of training and at 46 am preparing myself for my Black Belt grading in December 08. My Daughter is 6 years old and is also looking towards her Black Belt test at the ripe old age of 8! Children are also taught the importants of respect towards their Parents and Teachers aswell as their training. Everyone who trains with Choi Kwang Do achieves greater focus and wellbeing, self confidence and of course the ability to defend themselves in a real situation. I will never look back and will always look forward, thanks to Choi Kwang Do. Alan Carrington (Eastleigh)

I joined Hampshire CKD to learn Self Defence, get fit and increase my Self Confidence. The Club has delivered more than was promised and now at 46, after just 3 years, i am now ready to test for my Black Belt. CKD will teach you how to defend yourself in real situations encountered on the streets and not for "points" which can be found in other Martial Arts which are used in competition. I have since used the club again for my 6 year old daughter, who has achieved more focus, energy and awareness since joining. I would recommend this to anyone, particularly families, who want a safe, fun and fulfilling way to use their spare time. Alan Carrington
