Lakewood Tree Surgeons provide a wide range of services for all your tree-surgery needs. Based in Chandler’s Ford, Hampshire we are a professional company looking to provide an excellent standard of work, at a reasonable price.


We undertake all aspects of tree work, from small gardens to larger commercial work. We offer free quotations and advice, and we are available anytime. Health and safety is paramount to us, and the safety of not only our workers, but also those around us when working is our priority. All tree work is completed by fully-qualified tree surgeons and according to BS3998 (latest edition). All climbing equipment conforms to LOLER, and all machinery complies with PUWER.


All debris and waste will be removed from the site on the completion of job, free of charge.

Crown Lifting
Removal of lower branches to a desired height

Crown Reduction
Reducing the overall size of the tree but still retaining the natural species crown shape

Crown Thinning
Removal of inner smaller secondary branches to produce an even density of foliage throughout the crown of the tree

Crown Clean
The removal of dead, dying and diseased wood, stumps of broken branches, crossing branches, rubbing branches, unwanted epitomic growth and climbing plants(e.g. ivy)

Dead Wooding
Removal of all dead wood only

Pollard
Involves removal of all limbs back to trunk

Formative Pruning
Pruning a young tree in order to produce a tree which in maturity will be free from major physical weakness

Coppicing
Cutting back of selected tree species to almost ground level. This is carried out on a planned cycle

Dismantling
Taking a tree down in an area with a small drop zone, this is done by taking sections down using rope and pulley systems, cranes and mobile elevated work platforms

Felling
The felling technique is a series of cuts at the base of the tree allowing the tree to free fall into a selected safe area

Site Clearance
Removal of all trees, shrubs and over vegetation done prior to development for agricultural or commercial purposes

Stump Grinding
Removal of stump to below ground level
