Unit 27a, Hazel Road,
Trader and expoter of garments
Byronswell is a commerical textile recycling company, recently taken over in October 2008. We legitimately collect second hand clothing, which we sell on either as clothing or rags. Our charity of choice - Union Chernobyl of Ukraine, collects £500 per month as a charitable donation to help those still affected by the 1986 nuclear disaster. The money we send to this charity is more than that given by their own government. Those removed from their homes in the aftermath of the disaster are suffering ill health and homelessness. They still urgently need all the help we and others can give. The ASA judged that we were working within the law and had all the relevant paperwork to prove that the charity was receiving the donation we quoted. Please do not judge us too harshly for being a business as we are using our profits to help others not so fortunate. Thank you.
SO MANY EVIL MINDED OPINIONS ABOUT OUR ACTIVITY!! WHY!? Is it a part of an unhealthy competition from our rivals or just unproved charges from those who apparently don’t know us. We are a commercial company but also we are helping the needy people. Long time ago, during the cadence of the former Byronswell director Michal Zaremski, we did sign the contract with The Union Chernobyl of Ukraine (organization registered in Ukraine OKPO13422406) and according to that contract we are donating 6000£ a year directly to them to help the victims of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. It is not a lot, as many of You are thinking, but does mean much more for all those Ukrainian children’s getting proper help. Do you want us to stop sending that money?! Do you want to take away that little piece of a better life opportunity for those children?! How many of you have been giving any interest to the victims of the Chernobyl?! You are far, far away from that place and basically know nothing about it. The east part of my birth-country was affected by that catastrophe as well. Many of the victims are living in Poland and that is the reason I know how much we can really do to help. We can prove our support with Nina Yanchenko the Head of Committee ‘Children of Chernobyl’ thankful words for our work. Time will show we want to do much more! On the foundation our company stays on, under the new management of the Byronswell I, the new director, am going to improve our work to show that we really care about the Ukrainian children, the victims of Chernobyl disaster, the local community in Southampton and all those people who need us…NEED US ALL!! HUGE REGARDS TOMAS ZAKOWSKI
I live on angelsey in north wales and have just has a chernobyl leaflet and its screams scam! the first major clue to it not being a ''charity'' is the fact that it states on the leaflet its a registered company! NEVER give clothes ect to a charity who put leaflets in the door , the only proper charitys that do door to door collections and the one who provide a bag for the clothes
byronswell now scamming port talbot one must ask why thay mention chernobyl in there leaflets as thay say thay are not a charity ?????? thats right thay are just con men playing on peoples emotions sham on you pull the other one it has bells on
I received a leaflet through the door,in the Risca area of Gwent. I put a a pile together because I have seen the problems of Chernobyl and this time of the year it is extremely cold. However, I had a second thought and found that others have concerns. So I rang the police and they are to pass onto Trading Standards. Why couldn't be they 'up front'?
Now operating in Weston-super-Mare 23/11/07, police have been informed.
Now dropping leaflets in Wimborne, Dorset. After some research I found that they are likely to be a 'rags' company, selling scraps of used clothing to the car trade for cleaning/polishing cars. They even have a listing on the following car trade site: http://www.buyingsecondhandcars.com/Winchester I have reported them to trading standards.
Now leaflet dropping in Swansea. At first sight you think it is a charity.I shall be contacting trading standards, these people need to be stopped
Leaflet drop in Winlaton, Tyne and Wear. Claiming they are collecting for the Ukraine when they are clearly not. Parasites. Trading Standards informed at Gateshead Council who are to chase up.
I had a leaflet dropped on Thursday 26th July, after logging onto the internet and making a few enquiries I will be giving my clothes to Oxfam instead. Anne M
