Ironside House, Canute Road,
After enjoying a fantastic visit to the Gunwharf restaurant, we decided to give the Southampton one a go. We were very disappointed. First of all, given that it is October, we expected it to be warmer inside than outside, this was certainly not the case and we resorted to sitting with our coats round our legs to keep out the cold uncomfortable draft . Also had to wait a long time to be served and were not given the complimentary tortillas, like we had at Gunwharf. It wasnt particularly busy so would not have expected the delay. The food there after did come out swiftly, but again comparing to the Gunwharf visit, it was not even close. Not sure if this is all just a sign of the times, as this is not the first restuarant to suffer these incidents, but if one place can get it right, then management should ensure every branch follows suit.
i used to go here a lot but i went a couple weeks ago and its more expensive and the food isn't as good anymore.i would recommend cantina instead!
I have just been to chiquito's and have nothing good to say about it. We booked a table for 7.30 pm and arrived nearly 10 mins before. The restaurant was not very busy so we thought we would be served quickly. After been shown to our seats it took a waiter about 25 mins to ask if we wanted something to drink. nearly 10 mins after we were asked to order which we did. We waited approx 25 mins when I waiter came and said he thought we were already told that they had run out 0f our order and to order something else. At this point we should have walked out but we decided to give it a few more minutes, after all we had already waited 1hr.15 mins. When the food arrived every thing was cold and looked as though it had been standing around for quite a while The chicken I ordered had to be left, it was so overcooked and hard. There was as much confusion when trying to pay the bill.I will never eat in this restaurant again
