Great value fashion accessories and footwear, jewellery and all you need to glitz it up!
Firstly i must say that In response to comments Lisa H. made, i think that the comment below from Kimberley J. (who has obviously taken the time to speak to the real manager) clarifies this issue 100%! Those of us that really want freedom of choice and care about independent shops should do all that they can to support shops like The Glitz in these very difficult times, it's a great shop and really deserves to come out the other side of the credit crunch, and oh yes...the new dresses are to die for, i went in today and was in heaven, got a great little number for Saturday night and some fab new suede heels to match...loving it Glitz xxxxx
I have been visiting The Glitz for 6 years now and know the manager. Although i wasn't there when Lisa H visited i find this very out of character for The Glitz, and it's odd that Lisa H. is the only one who i have ever heard complain about the shop and keep on about it, posting nasty reviews and follow ups etc, she's a lady on a mission!!! When i read her review i was shocked, so next time i visited the shop i told Tracy the manager, she informed me she was actually abroad on holiday at the time of this incident, although she was accused of being there by the customer? She also told me that she has not been made aware of this incident until now (yet Lisa H. claims to have gone back to the shop??), Tracy feels no need to defend the shop as having spoken to the assistant involved she is satisfied that Lisa H. was at fault, and is infact a dishonest person. However as a loyal customer i feel i will comment on this now i know the true facts. Tracy told me she had spoken to the young lady involved (who is called Natalie) and was informed that this particular lady in fact became very rude and abusive when she was told that she would not be getting any money off the bag (as there were no marks on it), sadly the customer became very irate at this and began swearing in the assistants face, The Glitz do not tolerate rude and abusive behavoir and i don't blame them. Perhaps Lisa H. should look at her own behavior before posting nasty reviews which are not factual. Also if she felt the service was so horrific why purchase the bag, she didn't have to, wedding or no wedding if she felt the shop was that bad????? I think this is simply a case of sour grapes from a customer who could not get her own way, and i hope she has the dignity to let this drop now, as surely she has better things to do with her life. Now on to more important issues...have you seen the new stunning sequined dresses that have just arrived, i was positively drooling!!!!
Kimnberly, In response to your comment, I asked to see the manager after the appaling level of customer service that I recieved, The lady that served us Tracy informed me that she was the manager, whether she actually was or not I am not in the habit of distrusting people. I asked if the company had a head office and I was told by Tracy that she and her family owned the business. To be honest I am a little bit disappointed that you have doubted my comments. Surely the purpose of this website is to give potential shoppers the value of our experiences. I cannot comment on your positive experiences as I have not been there with you, likewise I feel that you have no right to question whether my experience happened as you were not there to witness!!!
Me and my friends always visit Glitz when we are in Bitterne, we find loads of really nice tops and jewellery there that is so much more unique than in town, they are always playing cool music too! by the way the manager is really nice, she is called Tracy i think, she knows us by name and always says hello.
As a loyal customer i have to say that the manager here is a lovely lady, i have been coming in for years and have never found her rude, only ever friendly and helpful, are you sure you are talking about the manager, she is a tall larger lady in her 30's with blonde hair?? i'd be very surprised if the incident described by Lisa H happened with this lady, perhaps it was a casual member of staff and the manager wasn't even aware of it? If this did indeed happen in this shop you should have asked for the manager, not assumed the person who you spoke to was the manager, and in any case i very much doubt what you are saying, this is unheard of in The Glitz., all of their staff are normally great.
This great little shop is a real find, located in the heart of Bitterne, opposite Sainsburys, it is a treasure trove of really gorgeous great value stuff for ladies and girls, really fab shoes that are excellent value, lots of choice of fashion bags, jewellery, even watches, purses, scarves etc. They do lots on addition to all this! The staff are also very helpful, much better than at stores that are part of a chain!! Well worth a visit!
