A wonderfull Italian restaurant set deep in the heart of the new forest. Situated in the small town of brockenhurst. serving all kinds of Italian cuisine meat, fish, pasta, salads and traditionally cooked pizza. An impressive wine menu and daily specials.
Situated opposite the train station their is no problem about who has to drive.
Our menu caters for any taste or price range pizza and pasta are very reasonable but for those special evenings our extensive meat and fish menu will more than suffice.
We are also within walking distance from several campsites in the area (Hollands Wood and Roundhill are less than a mile away). - Calls cost 150 pence per minute from a BT landline. Calls from other networks and mobiles may vary. For further information: www.voxanalytics.com/TL/0900.php
Established 1987 and still under the same ownership, family run buisness with a great atmosphere set very close to the train and bus station's, but still only a short walk away from forested areas.
I've been gong here since I was a boy, at the time it was one of the few family friendly restaurants, this restaurant gave me my passion for food in particular the prawns wrapped in Parma ham, perfection, I've just got back from a meal there and I was nothing short of blown away, I can begin to describe how good the food is, and the service came with a smile everytime, it you like of know about food then eat there
Just goes to show you. Dont believe everything you read on the net. I have been going for about 5 yrs now and heve never had a bad meal. My favourite place is in the pizzaria area where my daughter can watch the chef make the pizzas. Dont know how they can be frozen, if there made by hand fresh to order.I dont know some people??
My boyfriend and i had been looking forward to coming to this restaurant but we couldn't of been more disappointed, embarrassed and humiliated. We ordered the Deep fried Mozzarella (£7.50 - JOKE FOR WHAT YOU GET) and Garlic bread for starters. The Mozzarella was stone cold, tasteless and was a frozen food product, not fresh at all. The garlic bread had been microwaved so much that it was far too hot to pick up - again not pleasant. For the mains we simply ordered a pizza each. When the pizzas arrived mine was not what i ordered so I sent it back and then waited for the second one to arrive. When it came out it wasn't cooked - the mushrooms on it were completely raw and was still frozen in the middle. My boyfriend then complained (very rare) and the waiter / chef!!?? told us to get out of his restaurant NOW!!!! We had complained in a kind manner and he went totally mad, threw his arms in the air and was really quite embarrassing!I would never in a million years go back to this place and would strongly advise anyone to avoid it - it is just overpriced frozen foods warmed up with a very scary service! Get a frozen pizza from the supermarket - much nicer and would be cooked!!
I recently went to a friends 50th birthday at this restaurant and it was brilliant!! The staff were all great fun, making sure that we all had everything we needed and they all sang Happy Birthday with great enthusiasm! Even the owner/chef came in to make sure my friend was enjoying his party! The food they put on was amazing, a really good range of cold and hot traditional Italian dishes and they had even made a huge traditional Italian cake, which was absolutely delicious!! My husband and I have been back twice since and i would strongly recommend sampling the monk-fish - fabulous! Also, the prices are extremely reasonable, especially when you see the portion sizes they serve up!
This is a great restaurant with excellent food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere.Every time I go I try something different, and I have only once wished I hadn't - I would strongly advise against the pasta with a curry sauce! The mussels in particular are gorgeous, and they are only too happy to swap dishes between the starter menu and the main menu and add bits / leave stuff off if you ask them too. My only gripe is that they get so busy on a Friday and Saturday evening that they have two sittings - 7pm and 9pm. Personally, 7pm feels just a bit too early to eat, and if you take your time, you feel as if the staff are hurrying you along because they want your table for the next sitting. Equally, come 9pm I'm either starving and can't wait any longer for my food, or my appetite has deserted me!All things considered, a very good restaurant, but go on a week night if you don't want to be rushed (NB. closed Mondays).

Had a great New Year here! Very lively. Staff in fancy dress and so were we! Fab food...especially the fish soup and the puds were home made. I had panetonne bread and butter pudding which is my favourite at the moment and this was definitely the best I'd had. Family run business - very relaxed atmosphere and value for money. I like the fact that the old crane has been left intact as it was the shunting shed for the trains.
The best Italian restaurant ever! Had my eighteenth birthday there and everyone loved it! Food is amazing and the atmosphere can't be beaten! Great value for money and the staff are great fun!
Great resturant not too expensive and huge portions of lovely pasta or pizza or for the not so aventurous you can get good old steak, 10/10 for romantic dates or any other occasion for that matter.
This is the place to eat if you are an admirer of Italian cuisine!! Vito and his team will supply you the atmosphere and a great service!!! IL PALIO SPLENDIDO
Il Palio 2 is amazing! The staff are so friendly, the food is amazing, the atmosphere is wonderful. I cannot remember eating at a better Italian restaurant!
