  • 4 A good place for lunch or evening meal

We go often, the food is fresh and well cooked. The atmosphere is great. Its the best place in Ronsey for snacks or meals. I disagree compleatly about the other 2 reviews. Just go in the door and you will see.

  • 4 Foodman

Been going here for fifteen years. Aware of previous bad reviews, and perhaps things can be up and down sometimes. However, always crowded on Friday evenings and weekends, so locals think it's pretty good. Non-pretentious, reasonably good food, and we've found the staff friendly and helpful. We go there regularly with our young kids, and the staff are very good with them.

  • 1 Sub McDonalds' quality food

Although promisingly French staffed, the alleged sirloin steak ordered was extremely poor quality and mostly inedible fat. Fries were also greasy, and vegetables a reheated mess. Disappointingly the staff showed no interest in my lack of appetite, perhaps something they are familiar with. To add insult to injury the coffee was barely lukewarm. Unfortunately a memorable meal for all the wrong reasons. No dessert, no tip, no return visit planned.

  • 1 Bad bistro

A supposed classy french bistro type of restaurant. Warning bells went off when there were about 20 starters on the menu. My french onion soup was bland and nearly tasteless, looked pretty much like they had just boiled a few onion slices in some vegetable stock. Instead of a nice gruyere encrusted grilled crouton as you would expect from french onion soup I got a little ramekin of cheddar cheese, and some melba toast like baguette slices. My mom only managed a bite out of her starter, some sort of seafood medley which just tasted like wet old seafood bits on some sodden lettuce. To be fair the manager spotted she hadn't eaten it and didn't charge for it.Main courses came and while my steak was fairly tasty it was pretty cold when it arrived. The bearnaise sauce was obviously out of a jar and the veg was nuked. Not what you expect for £20.We didn't bother with dessert, all in all really not worth the considerable amount they charged. Avoid.

  • 1 Saturday Supper

Table for 2 at 7.30, first diners of evening, warm welcome. Ordered Evian, arrived at table already opened, ordered nice Sancerre, same again - not a good start! No half decent restaurant does that - unles they are hiding something!! Starters: Moules Provencale, slightly dry and overcooked, and Scallops OK. Main course: Escalope of Veal was a bit tough, Rack fo Lamb was good. Deserts - Sorbet with Calvados superb and Ile Flotante good. Overall not a brilliant evening - made worse by the loud music from a neighbouring nite spot!

  • 1 Good Food. Very Poor Service. Bad Attitude

Good meal spoilt by the very poor service. Paid over £40/head and waited over a hour for the bill. No one asked if the meal was OK. No one asked if we wanted coffees. Not enough trained staff to cover the tables, we were completely ignored. We complained and the manager (we think) made us feel that it was all our fault! Not good we won't be going back - don't bother. Spend your money somewhere else. We wrote and complained and after 2 weeks still no reply. Say's it all...!
