Cheap and Damn Cheerful!

Big George’s is a dream fish and chip shop. The chips are amazing and if you order a large for �£2 you will be able to comfortably feed a family of 4 fat bastards. The portions are so big that even if you were to use a broad sheet newspaper as a base the mound of chips would still be about a foot high. I am not kidding – go see for yourself! The service in there is friendly and there’s generally wrestling on the TV. while you’re waiting for your fish.During the fire fighters strike Big George’s was feeding the fire-fighters families for free. This is a restaurant with a social conscience! I was a little disappointed to receive my burger one day in a polystyrene container – not very environmentally friendly! If you go in make a point of showing your disapproval at their container choice. Container aside the burger was excellent and with enough change from a fiver for a beer I was fed to bursting and even had enough to feed a friend a fair bit as well.If cheap and cheerful is your thing then you can’t go wrong with Big George!
