  We have grown more disappointed with this cafe the more we visit. The counter service is terribly slow and although the cakes look nice they are usually a disappointment. Also there is a manager there who is not the most helpful or patient man I have ever met (not sure if he is still there). There are much nicer places to eat close by. Its a shame - a couple of years ago I really rated it as a place to eat but not any more.

• don't buy the drinks!!

  we ordered a banana milk shake and sparkling mineral water. The milk shake was £1.80 and the water £1.30. We sent the milk shake back because it was warm. It came back still warm so we asked for ice cubes for it. No ice cream in it just that bottled banana flavoured syrup. The water was the smallest glass you could possible expect. I would at least expect to receive one of the small bottles of water but it is obviously just poured out of a big bottle. The 4 people behind us also ordered milk shakes and they also complained to each other about how awful it was. Luckly, the food was good. We had a mushroom omlette and a cheese ploughmans. Very tasty and lots of it. If we had only had drinks we wouldn't have even given it 1 star!! I suppose we should have noticed that it was only tourists in the shop and not many of them either.
