Brides Of Southampton

Most rude person I have ever met. Didn't listen to what I wanted, ordered the wrong little bridesmaid's dress but insisted it was the right one . It came calf length despite the one tried on being floor length -- the excuse given being the one originally tried on must have been far too big for the little girl, even though I made clear at the time I wanted it floor length. Had to pay for this dress but didn't use it as it was so awful. Alteration costs for the other dresses were outrageous. Cannot recommend this shop at all.

Reminded me of 'are you being served' it seems they care more about how much they can get out of you than if you're happy with a dress. I was told I could have a dress 'half price' I checked the label when the sales assistant had gone to get some (very grubby) bridal shoes and everywhere else the same dress was cheaper full price so they were trying to pull a fast one! Wouldn't go back and am trying to find same dress elsewhere.

I was also terribly distressed and disappointed. I waited for around an hour to be shown into a dressing room only for my friend, who I wanted to come with me to be told to 'stay where you are'. I was the told that there wasn't much for me. I am a size 16 not large I'd say, I was interested in trying a gown however I was told 'it's a size 14 so I wouldn't even go there.' I was mortified the sales member was aggressive and stern I felt stressed and horrified. Don't go there if your bigger than a 14 you will never want to try on a wedding dress again.

After reading some of the reviews of Brides of Southampton I was a little worried about going there. I shouldn't have been. The beauty about BofSoton is that once you have an assistant (you may have to wait max 20 mins) you have the assistant for as long as it takes you to find a dress - i was in there for 3 hours! The women are highly experienced and pin you in and alter the dress so you walk out with it looking perfect. They also let you try on anything but as they know all the styles they quickly start to help you whittle it down and also advise on dresses you perhaps would not have originally considered. You can also try on any veils you want straight away, unlike Pronovias in Bond Street which was not a patch on BofSoton! Out of the boutiques i went to in London and one in Winchester, brides of Southampton were wonderful. My mum only cried when i was in this store as they made me look how i will look on the wedding day, unlike the other shops which just shove you in a dress and push you out. I bought my dress on Saturday after going back there a second time, i am now so excited and without doubt I have the most beautiful dress for me thanks to the ladies at BofSoton.

This is a very busy shop om Saturday but I had a fantasic assistance and was not rushed at all. I found an amazing dress at a really good price. I was recommended by friends and was really glad I went there.
